Syria in general and northern Syria in particular suffer from high rates of poverty, unemployment, food insecurity, and dependence on foreign aid. The situation worsened after some areas were exposed to a magnitude earthquake on 6/2/2023, with an intensity of 7.8 on the Richter scale. It led to the death of more than 29605  people, the injury of more than 80104, and the collapse of many residential buildings: in addition to the displacement of thousands of families in the streets, homeless in the cold, and without the slightest necessities of life that would help them to overcome this disaster.

This earthquake comes in light of the low living conditions experienced by the population in Syria and the regions of northern Syria in particular, where the Syrian north is considered the largest site for camps for the displaced in Syria, especially after the massive displacement and forced displacement from various regions of Syria. Most of the displaced live in tents, as the number of refugees in the north, reached 4,186,704 Syrians, and more than 1,043,689 live in tents to this day, in addition to more than 300 children who were lost in Syria due to the severe cold and the lack of the least means of protection.
