Hi! my name is Alia, and I have been given the opportunity to go to the International Student Leadership Conference for Operation Smile, a charity that aims to provide safe surgical care and comprehensive care for patients with cleft conditions in low and middle income countries.
I've been a volunteer at operation smile for 3 years now. When I first joined and did my student ambassador training, I had heard about the ISLC for the first time and was absolutely enamored by the idea of it. Now that I'm older and actually have the opportunity to go, It would mean the world to me if you’d like to support me on this journey.
This experience aims to provide high school students to witness inspiring keynotes and discussions led by professionals, with a focus on global health, participate in interactive workshops that encourage participation and personal growth, and interact with student-led panels offering lived experiences and open conversation.
This truly is a transformative experience will equip me with the skills and knowledge to become powerful advocates for children born with cleft conditions.
Any support, whether through sharing or contributing, means a lot.
Your contribution directly supports my conference fees and travel expenses, every donation, big or small, brings me closer to my goal and paves the way for a young aspiring student to achieve her dreams.
