Story

Support Hannah on her Madagascar Pirogue Challenge!

On Saturday 5th July, nine brave challengers will travel to Nosy Be, Madagascar, to take part in an epic pirogue sailing challenge — raising funds for an inspiring local charity project supporting individuals with disabilities.

This adventure will test their endurance, team spirit, and ability to rough it, with basic island accommodation and no luxuries in sight. Over the course of the challenge, the team will work alongside local sailors to master the art of navigating traditional Malagasy pirogues — a true test of grit, learning, and cultural exchange.

But this isn’t just about adventure — it’s about impact.

In Nosy Be, people with disabilities have long faced discrimination, limited opportunities, and minimal support. Gulf for Good is working to change that by supporting a dedicated education and training centre that empowers individuals with disabilities through:

✅ Specialised education

✅ Skills training

✅ Employment opportunities

✅ Community outreach to change perceptions

Funds raised through this challenge will go towards purchasing a recycling machine — a game-changing step toward making the centre financially sustainable. This machine will help generate income, create job opportunities for adults with disabilities, and provide long-term dignity, independence, and inclusion.

With over 60 individuals enrolled, and 90% of students’ family members employed at the centre, your support reaches far beyond a single person — it uplifts entire families and strengthens the local community.

Donate today. Help us turn the tide for disability inclusion in Madagascar.

Together, we can make waves of change.

FUNDRAISING

This challenge is held in association with Gulf for Good, a UAE-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of underprivileged children and communities worldwide.

The breakdown of how donations are distributed is as follows:

75% of funds raised go directly to the education center in Madagascar, funding the purchase of a recycling machine to create sustainable income and employment for people with disabilities.

15% of funds raised go to Gulf for Good, supporting their ongoing efforts to deliver impactful charitable projects.

10% of funds raised go to Dubai Humanitarian for their emergency response initiatives.
