H.O.P.E (Helping Out Possibly Everyone)

The pandemic forced our coping resources such as belief and resilience to be pushed to the maximum as we battled illness, the loss of loved ones, unemployment, and many other setbacks. We navigated these unprecedented times by hoping that there was light at the end of a dark tunnel and by the help that we received from each other.

H.O.P.E - Helping Out Possibly Everyone is a new philanthropic campaign being launched at GEMS Legacy School, with the sole aim of helping the world sustain itself on the ideal of hope. The Principal - Mrs Asha Alexander, believes that every human being wishes that someone out there is looking out for them, ready to assist them, and in turn help them navigate through the journey of life.

We all live in the hope of a better tomorrow and to actualize that vision, the campaign H.O.P.E is synced to the empathy curriculum and encourages staff and students to commit to one hope-bearing action per day. The need is not to do big things, instead, small helpful actions go a long way in forging friendships and cementing holistic meaningful connections and relationships. Actions can include and are not limited to teaching someone something new so that they can better themselves, sharing a tong or mentoring a peer, doing a good deed expecting nothing in return, practising and expressing gratitude, and, emotionally supporting acquaintance.

As part of the H.O.P.E campaign this Ramadan we aspire as a community to donate 25000 AED and more toward the One Billion Meals Endowment in an effort toward achieving SDG-Goal 2 Zero Hunger and spreading the wings of hope and empathy.

The 1 Billion Meals initiative aims to bring the community together and foster a culture of giving in order to raise funds for the distribution of One Billion Meals.

Individuals, schools and business communities are encouraged to launch their own fundraising campaigns in order to reach and achieve a greater impact.

Your participation in this campaign will contribute to the overall impact of the 1 Billion Meals initiative, which aims to reach and touch the hearts of needy people in 50 countries around the world.

About One Billion Meals

The “One Billion Meals” is the biggest humanitarian initiative of its kind in the region. It aims to secure food aid for vulnerable communities in 50 countries around the world. It will provide food support to those in need, representing a grand statement of the UAE’s aspirations in humanitarian aid and firm commitment in developing long-term solutions to improve lives across the world, without any discrimination.

The One Billion Meals campaign is an expansion of the UAE’s previous Ramadan campaigns “100 Million Meals” and “10 Million Meals”, organized under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The “1 Billion Meals Endowment” campaign has launched a food endowment fund at a value of AED1 billion. The campaign aims to help vulnerable communities in dozens of countries around the world, during the holy month of Ramadan.

The campaign reflects the UAE’s approach to humanitarian aid and its commitment to developing long-term solutions to improve human lives across the world, without any discrimination.

The “1 Billion Meals Endowment” is an expansion of the UAE’s previous Ramadan campaigns “1 Billion Meals”, “100 Million Meals” and “10 Million Meals”, organized under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
