"Cancer was part of my life. But it is not my life." -Nahid Al-Naqbi. Unfortunately cancer has afflicted many people, as we know, including me by the end of 2019. I had just started a new chapter in my professional and social life in another city in the country. It has been a long road, but now I am in full recovery. Although it is not always easy, I am learning what it means to move forward as a cancer survivor, with all its psychological highs and lows. But none of this would be the case for me if it weren't for two crucial things: access to palliative health care and medical research that is of great interest to me. What I found during my journey with cancer, specifically breast cancer, was the absence of a lot of information, culture and community awareness that almost killed me. We have come a long way with medical advances. However, we still have more to go in this year, 2020, which confirms the importance of medical research and its role in achieving a positive impact in cancer and oncology research in general. Though I will focus on breast cancer research. Moreover, the research will lead us to increase the number of clinical trials of drugs and biotechnology for drugs to combat this deadly disease that steals from the comfort of the patient, his family, relatives, friends and colleagues. Let's change the future of cancer. Research is the only way to reach zero deaths in 2030 #zeroby2030. Fundraising and raising donations for research that improves the quality of life and treatment, so that the UAE will also be a pioneer in this research. To achieve this, 100% of the profits will be donated to support #Cancer Research at Al Jalila Foundation. My goal is to collect 500,000 dirhams and it would mean a lot to me if I made a donation specifically for projects / support for researchers who are providing much of the research needed to save lives.
