My name is Aly Dhedhi, I’m 14 years old, and I attend Jumeirah College. I am currently fundraising for The Citizens Foundation, or TCF, an organization committed to providing quality education to underprivileged children in Pakistan.

Pakistan is in the midst of an education crisis, with 26.2 million children out of school—more than half of whom are girls. To make matters more urgent, did you know that every minute in Pakistan, 13 babies are born? That means 2 new primary schools are needed every hour to keep up with the growing demand for education. Tragically, half of these children are born below the poverty line, which puts tremendous stress on organizations like TCF to step in and support their education.

TCF is leading the charge to address this crisis. They build and operate schools in some of the most underprivileged areas of Pakistan. The Economist has even called TCF "perhaps the largest network of independently run schools in the world." Currently, they operate 2,033 school units, providing education to 301,000 deserving students. TCF is also the largest private employer of women in , with an all-female faculty of 14,700 teachers and principals.

This is my third year working with TCF, and I’ve raised over 30,000 AED to help support their mission. Education is not just a right—it’s a powerful tool that can break the cycle of poverty and uplift entire communities.
