Every three minutes, another baby is born with a cleft. While most of them will live healthy lives, thousands will not live to see their fifth birthday due to malnutrition-related causes. In fact, since the year 2000, 46,000 children with clefts under the age of five have died from malnutrition.
We are bringing attention to the deadly effects of clefts and malnutrition with the release of the first-ever state of the world's cleft care report: "A Generation Lost: The Devastating Effect of Malnutrition on Children with Clefts."
