Education is not a privilege, it’s a right and one that should be given top priority to. Approximately 38% of children in Pakistan are Illiterate. To put that into perspective, that’s 26.2 million kids not knowing how to read or write at a basic level. A huge factor of this extensive issue is no access to a quality education. This is where The Citizens Foundation steps in.
My name is Zayd Fahad. I am 14 years old and live in Dubai, going to a school called Jumeirah College. My sister's name is Shanzay Fahad who is 15 years old and also studies at Jumeirah College. This summer break, we have decided to join the TCF ambassadors of change programme to make our vacation more meaningful.
TCF is a non-profit organization that is on a mission to solve the immense issue of the education crisis in Pakistan. This project began in 1995 and was created by a group of individuals who realized that a lack of education in our country is one of the main reasons for its social and economical struggles. This idea eventually led to the creation of TCF in Pakistan. Since then, TCF has constructed 2033 schools across the country while having a total of 301,000 students enrolled. While this does seem like a huge milestone, the journey has only begun. Millions of children in the region still lack affordable or accessible schools in their area. This is why we need your help.
Our goal for this fundraiser is to raise 1800 AED. This amount is equivalent to funding the education of three children for the entire academic year. With your support and our dedication, we can hopefully achieve this goal with ease and work towards a better future for Pakistan.
