A child is diagnosed with cancer every 3 minutes worldwide. No parent should ever hear the words: your child has cancer.

This year, at the age of 16, I am taking on a personal challenge by swimming the Bosphorus Cross-Continental Race to raise funds for the Al Jalila Foundation’s Every Child Needs a Superhero campaign , which provides life-saving treatment to children with cancer.

Swimming across continents is a symbolic reminder that with determination, preparation, and unity, we can overcome even the most daunting distances. In the same way, the Foundation helps patients and families overcome their toughest battles.

For the past three years, I have proudly served as a junior coach with Heroes of Hope, teaching children of determination how to swim. Working with these incredible kids has shown me the power of resilience, courage, and hope in the face of challenges. Their determination in the water has inspired me to take on my own challenge of swimming the Bosphorus, turning their strength into my motivation. This experience has deeply shaped me and makes this cause especially meaningful.

Through this journey, my goal is not only to raise funds but also to raise awareness for the Foundation’s life-changing initiatives and to inspire a wide network of individuals and organizations to contribute to this cause. This mission is personal to me, and I am committed to turning my effort in the water into hope on land.

Many families cannot afford the care their children urgently need. With your support, we can ensure that every child has the chance to fight, heal, and dream of a brighter tomorrow.

Advances in research give us hope that cancer can be beaten, and Al Jalila Foundation is at the forefront of providing treatment and support. 100% of the proceeds from this campaign will go directly towards children’s medical care.
