Iceland Charity Challenge – Trekking for Orphaned Children in Gaza

This challenge sees participants take on a demanding multi-day trek across Iceland’s extraordinary and unforgiving landscapes, trekking from Landmannalaugar to Reykjavik while raising vital funds to support orphaned children in Gaza.

Over five challenging trekking days, participants will test themselves physically and mentally as they journey through one of the most dramatic environments on Earth.  This is not a sightseeing stroll — it is one of Europe’s most demanding yet rewarding trekking experiences.

By pushing their limits in Iceland’s raw wilderness, challengers are standing in solidarity with children who face daily hardships far beyond the trail.

Orphan Care Gaza – Giving Hope Where It’s Needed Most

This challenge is raising funds to support orphaned children in Gaza who have lost their parents as a result of the ongoing crisis. We are partnering with Taawon (Welfare Association) to deliver this initiative through their Noor Orphan Care Program, a trusted and well-established system supporting orphaned children with dignity and long-term care.

Each child supported through this project will receive:

• Nutritious food and appropriate clothing
• Access to healthcare and education
• Psychosocial and trauma support to help them heal and rebuild their lives

This care goes beyond emergency relief. It focuses on stability, emotional recovery, and long-term empowerment, ensuring children are supported not just today but into the future.

The Noor Orphan Care Program provides real-time transparency through the Noor Digital Portal, allowing donors to track the progress and impact of their support through regular updates from Taawon and Gulf for Good.

Fundraising and Transparency

This challenge is held in association with Gulf for Good, a UAE-based not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of underprivileged children and communities worldwide.

Donation breakdown:

• 75% of funds raised go directly to Taawon (Welfare Association) to support orphaned children in Gaza
• 15% of funds raised support Gulf for Good’s ongoing charitable operations and project delivery
• 10% of funds raised support Dubai Humanitarian’s emergency response initiatives
