MY STORY

Hey everyone!

My name is Mikhayl Harchandani, I’m 14 years old, and I’m about to take on the Dubai Burj to Burj Half Marathon on February 9th! That’s 21.1 kilometers of running, sweating, and probably questioning my life choices at kilometer 15. But here’s the thing—I’m not just running for the medal (okay, maybe a little), I’m running to support an incredible cause: Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) in honor of World Cancer Day!

FOCP is doing amazing work right here in the UAE, providing support, awareness, and hope to cancer patients and their families. They’re helping people fight this disease with courage and dignity, and I want to do my part to support their mission. That’s where YOU come in!

By donating to my fundraiser, you’ll be helping FOCP continue their life-changing work. Every dirham counts, and together, we can make a HUGE difference.

So, let’s make this happen! Together, we can turn my run into hope, smiles, and maybe even a few miracles for those battling cancer.

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

World Cancer Day takes place on 4 February every year. The day aims to raise awareness, fundraise and inspiring action to reduce the devastating impact that cancer has on the world. It’s an important day for everyone to come together to raise awareness of the issues surrounding cancer and how it affects everyone’s lives. World Cancer Day is led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), and Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) is proud to support this awareness day.

Theme: UNITED BY UNIQUE

The new world cancer day theme 2025-2027 “united by unique” places people at the centre of care and their stories at the heart of the conversation.

For World Cancer Day we want to highlight that with your support and kind donations last year we were able to support over 400 cancer patients and their families in UAE. There is still a huge need for more treatment and support for all cancers affecting children and young adults.
