Hello everyone,

We undertaking a Triathlon consisting of 250m swimming, 5km cycling and 2km running in order to raise money for the fight against COVID-19. 

The world has come along way since COVID-19 first entered onto the scene and for a lot of us life slowly seems to be returning to some form of normal.

According to Our World in Data by September 21, 2021, 6 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccine had been administered across the world.

But this number does not tell the whole story. There is an enormous and significant gap between which countries, continents and income groups are receiving the vaccine.

Vaccine doses have been and continue to be distributed extremely unevenly with developed countries having access and at times more vaccines than they need and low-income countries, particularly in Africa suffering the most.

I have therefore decided to support the Emirates Red Crescent which by partnering with other like-minded organisations strives to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. This is an example of the efforts they have undertaken so far:

•Partnering with the HOPE consortium whose mission is to distribute 18 billion doses of the vaccine by the end of 2021 to those countries that do not have access. The

• Sending flights of medical aid including "Covid-19" vaccines to Syria

• Providing water resources in Sudan to ease the Covid-19 results,

• 8 medical institutions to enhance the capabilities of the health sector in Yemen to help combat covid-19

• first phase of refugees’ vaccination in Jordan and Iraq against covid-19

• 2,000 tons of medical supplies to more than 139 countries

• 960 tons of urgent medical and food items sent to about 20,000 families in the Gaza Strip.

• medical aid supplies to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sao Paulo in Brazil, Ukrainian, Sudan, South Africa, Kyrgyzstan, Indonesia, Iran, Bangladesh, Kenya, Zimbabwe and many other needed countries to support the countries’ efforts to combat COVID-19.
