A year ago, if you’d told me I’d be running a half marathon, I would have laughed (or cried)... I actually did when someone suggested it, it was a HARD NO! I was pretty running-phobic, fully committed to lifting heavy and avoiding cardio at all costs- unless it was lifting weights faster! But somehow, running found me (it gets us all, in the end!) —and it’s changed everything. It’s not just about fitness; it’s improved my mental health, social life (Thanks Jumeriah Johns!), and overall outlook. Now, I want to use running for the power of good—to make a real difference in others’ lives, just as it has in mine.
That’s why I’m taking on my first-ever half marathon—the iconic Burj2Burj Half Marathon (actually my first ever "official road race"- see total newbie) and raising money for The Sparkle Foundation, an incredible charity transforming the lives of children in Malawi through education, healthcare, and nutrition. Every donation, big or small, helps these kids access the opportunities they deserve—and gives me an extra push when my legs start questioning my life choices at kilometre 18!
I’m beyond grateful for the chance to run in this event and for any support you can give. Whether you donate, share this page, or just send some good vibes my way, it all means the world. Let’s make this run sparkle! ✨?♀️
