Running the Great Wall Marathon to Fight Childhood Cancer

My name is Abdulla Bin Hajar AlShehhi, and in 2024, I became the first Emirati to complete the Abbott World Marathon Majors — a journey of passion, purpose, and perseverance.

But some battles are greater than any race.

On 17 May 2025, I will take on one of the world’s toughest challenges — the Great Wall Marathon in China, climbing over 5,000 steps. I’m dedicating this run to a cause close to my heart: helping children battling cancer.

Every 3 minutes, a child is diagnosed with cancer around the world.* No parent should ever hear the words: “your child has cancer.”

This campaign supports young cancer patients whose families cannot afford life-saving treatment. Through Al Jalila Foundation, 100% of donations go directly to children’s cancer treatment and cancer research — bringing us one step closer to a cure.

Let’s give them hope. Let’s be their superheroes.

أركض ماراثون سور الصين العظيم  لمحاربة سرطان الأطفال

اسمي عبدالله بن حجر الشحي، وفي عام 2024، أصبحت أول إماراتي يُكمل سلسلة ماراثونات العالم الكبرى — رحلة مليئة بالإصرار والهدف.

لكن بعض المعارك أعظم من أي سباق.

في 17 مايو 2025، سأخوض أحد أصعب التحديات — ماراثون سور الصين العظيم، بتسلق أكثر من 5000 درجة. أُهدي هذا السباق لدعم قضية إنسانية: مساعدة الأطفال المصابين بالسرطان.

يُشخَّص طفل بالسرطان كل 3 دقائق حول العالم.* ولا يجب أن يسمع أي والد أو والدة عبارة: "طفلك مصاب بالسرطان."

هذه الحملة تدعم الأطفال المرضى الذين لا تستطيع عائلاتهم تحمّل تكاليف العلاج. من خلال مؤسسة الجليلة، يتم توجيه 100% من التبرعات مباشرة لعلاج سرطان الأطفال وتمويل أبحاث السرطان — لنقترب خطوة نحو الشفاء.

فلنمنحهم الأمل. ولنكن أبطالهم.
