Thousands of people in Sudan are dealing with loss and damages due to the floods caused in the rainy season of June 2022. As of September 5 The National Council for Civil Defence reported in the media that 112 people died and more than 115 people have been injured since the beginning of the rainy season in June. The rains and floods have also destroyed at least 85,000 houses, hospitals, schools, and other governments facilities across the country.
The Emirates Red Crescent field teams are aiding the Sudanese people and helping them to overcome the catastrophic conditions produced by the floods that have ravaged various sections of the country. Our team are overseeing the evacuation of local residents to camps that provide shelter and safety.
In addition, we are providing humanitarian aid, benefitting more than 270,000 displaced people in the provinces most affected by the disaster. Your support fundraising and donating will help us to continue offer relief.
