عن الحملة

They have big expectations for the choices that will alter and impact their lives and our planet, and they are determined to make their voices heard. By supporting them, you support their countries, cities, and communities that are already enduring the impact of climate change.

From the Climate Justice Camp in Tunisia to the COP27 in Egypt

This year’s United Nations Climate Change Conference is hosted in the Global South. It’s time we let the young climate champions from Morocco, Tunisia, Palestine, Egypt and Iraq and other countries lead the global discussions on climate action at COP27 and defend their communities.

To better equip them in their endeavour, we have enrolled our young climate champions in a climate justice camp, whereby they engaged with more than 300 other mobilizers from the Global South to create a strong, regional solidarity bond and assist them in building a more representative climate movement in the MENA in the lead to COP27.

With your donation, you will be:

  • Supporting the journey of 10 climate champions from their home-town to Egypt
  • Supporting their full stay at COP27 by covering the 12 days' expenses
  • Enabling them to strategize and meet international climate champions
  • Developing visual materials to be displayed during COP27 movements
  • Enabling them to amplify their voices through their participation

Arab Youth at COP27

Our climate champions come from regions mired with conflicts or post-conflict transitions, yet they are charged with hope and with your support to attend the aptly dubbed “The African Cop”:

#1 Strategize their work and mobilize to implement much-needed solutions and policies.
#2 Call for climate justice and pave the way towards a future they dare imagine better.
#3 Defend and represent their communities that constitute farmers, fishermen and the most marginalized communities affected by the impact of climate change

The emergency

Climate change is no longer a negotiable argument. It is a lived reality for people like these young advocates and their communities.

With more and more incidents of extreme weather events happening in the MENA region, we have become vulnerable to food and water insecurity triggering mass economic instability, prolonged droughts in some areas, and heavy floods and landslides in others.

We are living in the very future we have been dreading, and the Middle East and North African region represents one of the most vulnerable areas to the severe impacts of climate change.

This is an emergency, and it won’t go away. The time to act is now.

Global solidarity. People’s Power. Climate justice.
