Lebanon is torn by violence from the northern Bekaa valley, to the governorate of Baalbek-Hermel, and even the heart of Beirut. The humanitarian crisis has reached alarming levels as hostilities continue to escalate. Basic infrastructures and services are overstretched, casualties are mounting, and countless individuals are being displaced within and outside of the country. Entire families are now facing extreme adversity, struggling to secure necessities, all while living under constant threat.
The humanitarian crisis in Lebanon is deepening, the needs of the people remain immense and urgent for the remaining months of 2024 and beyond.
Since October 2023, amid rising tensions in Southern Lebanon, the ICRC has stepped up its emergency preparedness and response activities. Our efforts are centered on enhancing healthcare for the community, guaranteeing safe access to water, and promoting the protection and assistance for civilian population.
