Hi, my name is Ibrahim Rahman, a 16 year old fundraiser for this wonderful charity.

Pakistan is in the midst of an education crisis with 26.2 million children out of school, more than half of whom are girls.

The Citizens Foundation (TCF) is a non-profit organization that builds and operates formal schools in Pakistan’s urban slums and rural communities where many children previously had no access to education. According to The Economist, TCF is “perhaps the largest network of independently run schools in the world.” Today, TCF operates 2,261 school units across Pakistan, providing education to over 320,000 students who would otherwise be out of school.

What I find especially impactful about TCF is its focus on empowering women and communities. The organization is the largest private employer of women in Pakistan, with an all-female faculty of 16,500 teachers and principals. Through this model, TCF not only educates children but also creates opportunities for women and helps strengthen entire communities.
