This Ramadan, hope begins with healing.

Every year in Pakistan, more than 10,000 children are diagnosed with cancer. For many families, the heartbreak of hearing this news is made even harder by poverty and limited access to specialised care, leaving fewer than one in three children able to receive proper treatment.

My name is Zainab Versiani. I am 11 years old, and for the past couple of years, I have been running small charity campaigns and collecting funds for Indus Hospital & Health Network during Ramadan. This month means so much to me because while I fast and pray, I also try to make a difference for children who are fighting cancer. I often think about how scared they might feel, and how incredibly brave they are. They deserve to play, go to school, and spend time with their families without worrying about hospitals or treatment.

At Indus Hospital & Health Network, no child is ever turned away because of cost. From chemotherapy and surgery to diagnostics, nutrition, and emotional support, every part of a child’s cancer care is provided completely free, so families can focus on hope instead of hospital bills.
