Backgrounder of Community Media Network

In 2007 Community Media Network (CMN) was established and registered in Jordan’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce as a, not for profit company registration #359. in order to run a radio station and a website earlier created. Elias Farkouh Jordan’s leading novelist is the organization’s chairman of the board and award-winning journalist Daoud Kuttab is the director-general. 

CMN was established following the success by journalist Kuttab to establish AmmanNet Radio on November 15th, 2000 as the Arab world’s first Internet radio station. In its initial phase, AmmanNet was sponsored by the Greater Amman Municipality and UNESCO’s Amman office

In 2005 AmmanNet radio received its  FM license and became known as Radio al Balad while the ammannet.net website continued as a new site.

CMN is a founder member of the HIMAM coalition for civil society organisations in Jordan

Broadcasting in the greater Amman area, radio al Balad can be heard on 92.5 and its programing are stored on this facebook page 



 شبكة الاعلام المجتمعي مؤسسة غير ربحية سجلت بتاريخ 19/3/2007 تحت رقم (156) تهدف الى خدمة المجتمعي الاردني من خلال الاعلام. وتدير الشبكة منذ تأسيسها مشاريع إعلامية وثقافية في المملكة الأردنية والعالم العربي ذات بعد اجتماعي تقدمي يؤمن بالمساوة الحقيقية وحقوق الانسان.

 تدير الشبكة إذاعتها المجتمعية “راديو البلد” وموقعها الالكتروني “عمان نت” و العديد من المشاريع والتدريبات التي تهدف ابراز حقوق الانسان و تسليط الضوء على ابرز الانتهاكات الواقعة على هذه الحقوق .و ساهمت المؤسسة بانتاج مجموعة من التحقيقات الاستقصائية الناجحة و التي اثمرت بتغيير و تعديلات على القانون و الاجراءات الحكومية . و
