On Sunday 1 February 2026, I’ll be running the Dubai Marathon - and I’m dedicating every step to Gaza.
I’m Haroon - 39, born and raised in the UK, living in Dubai for the past decade, working as an English teacher, and a proud dad. Over time, fitness became more than training for me. It became my reset button - a way to stay grounded, consistent, and mentally strong. I run, I lift, I try to live with an Alhamdulillah mindset: gratitude, effort, and using whatever strength we have for good.
This marathon isn’t about a medal or a time. It’s about purpose.
When you’re deep into a long run, everything in you wants to stop. But you keep moving - because you chose the challenge. Gaza didn’t choose its hardship. And that’s what keeps pulling me forward in training: the idea that I can turn my personal struggle into support for people facing something far heavier.
I’m raising funds for urgent humanitarian aid for Gaza - essentials like food, medical support, shelter, and emergency relief (through a trusted charity). If you’re able to donate, I’d be genuinely grateful. If you can’t, sharing the page or keeping Gaza in your prayers matters too.
Please share if you can — every bit of support helps.
Thank you for being part of this with me.
