Dubai College has partnered with The Sparkle Foundation to support children, women and families in Malawi. Every dirham raised helps fund education, healthcare, nutritious meals and community programmes, so families can build healthier, more self-sufficient lives.

Sparkle story

In a rural community in Malawi, a child’s day at Sparkle starts with a warm bowl of maize and soya porridge. After that, it might be a morning of play and learning in the nursery, a check-up at the clinic, or a football session with friends. For many families, Sparkle is where opportunity begins.

The Sparkle Foundation believes every community should have an equal chance to live a life of health and self-sufficiency. Sparkle doesn’t tackle problems in isolation. Its work is built on four connected pillars: Education, Health, Nutrition and Community. A hungry child can’t learn, and a family that’s unwell can’t thrive, so each part supports the others.

Now Dubai College is part of that journey

This partnership connects a school community in Dubai with a community in Malawi, and it goes well beyond fundraising. DC teachers are sharing their skills across sport, art and design, media and creative arts, and DC students will also have the chance to become Sparkle Student Ambassadors, championing the cause across school and learning what it means to be a global citizen.

What your donation supports

Education: Early Childhood Development for children aged two to six, and an afternoon programme once they move on to local schools

Health: Free medication, an onsite clinic treating up to 80 patients a day, outreach clinics reaching 17 villages, and an ambulance for emergencies

Nutrition: Two nutritious meals a day for every Sparkle child

Community: Women’s and youth programmes, skills training, and small business loans that help families become self-sufficient

The difference so far

So far in 2026, Sparkle has delivered 77,193 hours of learning, 66,183 medical treatments and 31,550 meals, and provided services to 39 villages.
