I am cycling 100 kms for the month of October to support the Al Jalila Foundation #PINKtober 2024 campaign. This is my fourth year of the fundraiser, having raised over AED 33,000 over the last three years. With the support of the school, corporates & wider community, I intend to make significant contribution again this year.
My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2020. Seeing her fight positively through the last four years has motivated me to contribute towards this cause and help support many other moms fighting it. The cycling endeavor will be a good challenge for me to push myself in the half term and the rest of October. It’s a special gift for my mom whose birthday is on October 26.
Al Jalila Foundation, a global healthcare philanthropic organization dedicated to transforming lives, was founded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Ruler of Dubai in April 2013, to position Dubai and the UAE at the forefront of medical innovation.
Al Jalila Foundation is a forerunner in raising awareness on the importance of early detection of breast cancer, furthering patient support with medical treatment and investing in local breast cancer research. The mission is to save lives by increasing awareness, education, research and offering emotional and financial support to patients with breast cancer in UAE and the region.
The funds raised from the fundraiser will go to support cancer patients who lack financial resources for their treatment.
Together, let’s make a difference!
