HCT is proud to be a participating institution in the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives’ 1 Billion Meals Campaign, by activating the support and engagement of its 23,000-strong student body and 2,000 employees.
HCT has a strong and proud history of humanitarian giving that is embodied in HCT students’ and employees’ volunteering work and community, service across the UAE. This community participation reflects the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian aid, preservation of human dignity and respect of national identities, through the 8th Principle of the “Principles of the 50”, as well as the progress and advancement of societies.
Humanitarian giving and support is embodied in the HCT’s volunteering work and community service, through which HCT creates well-rounded, socially aware and community-minded students, who grasp volunteerism as part of their culture and a lifestyle, thus contributing to their happiness and the happiness of others.
Echoing the national, humanitarian commitment, HCT has instilled volunteering work as a compulsory graduation requirement for all students. Each student must complete 100 hours of non-academic volunteering work and community service before graduation. This requirement has blossomed to where over 30,000 HCT students completed more than 2 million volunteering hours, as at December 2021. As a result, HCT students gone beyond the scope of the mandatory requirement out of their love and passion for volunteering and community service. The importance of volunteering and community service has extended to HCT employees who whole-heartedly support HCT’s ATAA’ Employee Volunteering Service.
