DC 9BPH Run for Childhood Cancer
Dedicated in memory of ”Vaanishka”
9 BPH ( a year 9 class at Dubai College) is joining the invitation from Dubai Fitness Challenge, to get into our stride, by participating in the Dubai Run on the 27th of November 2020. Not only will we run, jog or walk in our own community, we want to use our Dubai Run to raise awareness and funds for Childhood Cancer, and have launched a Yalla Give page for the Al Jalila Foundation.
Cancer is a leading cause of death for children and adolescents around the world and approximately 300,000 children age 0 – 19 years old are diagnosed with cancer each year. In high-income countries, more than 80% of children with cancer are cured, but in many low and middle-income countries, only about 20% are cured. The WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer aims to improve survival for all children with cancer to at least 60% by 2030 while reducing suffering.
Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital, the UAE’s only specialized children’s hospital, and Al Jalila Foundation, a global philanthropic healthcare organization, have launched the Al Jalila Children’s Fund. The Fund will exclusively support Al Jalila Children’s efforts to expand its offering of premium pediatric healthcare for children in the UAE and beyond. Funds raised are invested in programs to improve lives through medical treatment, education, and research.
Please support us in raising funds to treat and beat childhood cancer. Thank you!

Through your generosity, we have raised over 29,000 dirhams to date. This will go to the Al Jalila Foundation, helping ongoing medical treatment, research and education. Please continue to share our link which will remain open for one more month.
