Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has been providing urgently needed medical care amid pandemics and other emergencies for almost 50 years, in more than 70 countries.
Financial assistance from Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) allows MSF to respond to emergencies as soon as they occur and give high-quality care to those who need it most.
With the economic collapse in Lebanon and the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic hitting vulnerable families the hardest, the need for MSF’s thalassemia programme to continue providing lifesaving care to these children is greater than ever.
The MSF programme is the only one in the country providing free-of-charge, comprehensive care to children with thalassemia, whatever their nationality.
Thalassemia is a difficult disease for any child to live with. It requires recurrent admissions to hospital – sometimes three times per month, recurrent needle pricks, taking medications every day for the rest of their lives and living with the complications of the disease. Children with thalassemia have to deal with the pressure of leading lives that are different in many ways from their peers’, and of learning to manage a chronic condition.
The need is immense – and we want to do as much as we can to support MSF’s work and show solidarity with those who need urgent help.
With your support, through MSF, we can help save the lives of many children suffering from thalassemia in Lebanon.
This campaign is registered in the UAE under permit #3619 by the Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department (IACAD).
