Story

Gaza

Despite the ceasefire, people in Gaza continue to face extreme hardship after two years of continuous conflict. Many remain displaced, injured, and living in unsafe, overcrowded shelters with very limited access to clean water, sanitation, food, and medical care. With winter approaching, families sleeping in makeshift tents or in the open are especially vulnerable.

MSF teams continue responding to critical medical needs, including trauma injuries, infections, chronic diseases, and psychological distress, while the health system struggles to cope.

MSF’s Response in Gaza (Oct 2023–Sep 2025):

- 1,247,500 outpatient consultations

- 390,210 emergency consultations

- 70,600 mental health sessions

29,470 surgeries

- 16,680 births assisted

Sudan

Sudan is facing one of the world’s most severe humanitarian emergencies. Nearly 12 million people have been displaced, with many living in dire conditions and lacking access to food, shelter, and healthcare.

Following recent escalation in El Fasher, thousands fled to Tawila seeking urgent medical assistance. MSF teams treated hundreds of injured people in just one day, with many patients — including children — arriving severely malnourished.

MSF’s Response in Sudan:

- 530,589 outpatient consultations

- 118,307 emergency consultations

- 68,228 hospital admissions

- 14,666 deliveries

- 5,589 mental health sessions

- 1,381 sexual violence consultations
