Amèlie’s 200km+ run for The Sparkle Foundation

My name is Amèlie Sophia Davies, I'm 12 years old, and I live in Dubai, UAE.

I've always loved running, and I also love helping others. Taking part in this fundraising challenge for The Sparkle Foundation is something I'm incredibly passionate about because helping people in need holds a special place in my heart. 

I know how lucky I am to have opportunities that many children in Malawi don't have, and I want to use something I love more than anything —running—to help raise awareness and support the Sparkle foundation Run

I will be running around various locations in Dubai including kite beach , Meydan, Mira and many of the malls whilst the weather is hot during September using the  'mallathon' option! 

Dates: 1st September 2026 - 1st October 2026

Distance: 200km+

Logistics: I'll be completing the challenge over the campaign period while sharing my training, progress, and fundraising journey on social media!!

My Motivation :

Running has become a huge part of my life, and I wanted to use it for something bigger than myself. Every kilometre I run is for children and families who deserve the chance to thrive. I hope this challenge encourages others to run and to support the cause and shows that you're never too young to make a difference

Goals for This Year's Run :

Last year, I completed a 100 km fundraising challenge for the Sparkle Foundation. This year, I wanted to challenge myself even more by doubling that distance to 200 km. My goals are to:

Raise as much money as possible for the Sparkle Foundation and Raise awareness for people who don’t have as much as others and to also Inspire other young people to use their passions to help others !

I'll be sharing my training, runs, and fundraising progress throughout the challenge on Instagram to encourage people to get involved, donate, and help spread awareness. Every donation, no matter how big or small, can make a real difference to children and families in Malawi.

Thank you so much for supporting my fundraising journey. I'm so excited to take on this challenge and I'm also incredibly grateful to be a member of my amazing athletics club , Ultimate Athletics , where I began my running journey a few years ago . A special mention to my amazing running coach, Coach Peter, and the wonderful Kenyan Runners community?? who have supported & welcomed me . I am really hoping I can make an even bigger impact this year on everyone !
