Challenge
I will be embarking on a multi-day altitude hike across Bhutan this November to raise funds to provide essential Early Childhood Care and Development upgrades for the care and education of children in Thimphu.
I will be funding the trip myself, with all funds raised going to charity as stipulated below.
CHARITY PROJECT:
Located in Thimphu, Bhutan, the Loden Foundation aims to create a happy and enlightened society through enhancing access to education, development of social entrepreneurship, and preservation and promotion of Bhutan’s rich cultural heritage. They support children and youth from low-income families through their Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) centres.
Through Gulf for Good, a local not-for-profit, I am fundraising to revitalise and upgrade three Loden ECCD centres to create a more nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for children aged 3-8. The project will focus on infrastructure upgrades, the procurement of educational toys, books, and other necessary resources, and strengthening the bonds between the ECCD and the community.
FUNDRAISING:
This challenge is held in association with local not-for-profit Gulf for Good, whose purpose is to change the lives of underprivileged children around the world.
The breakdown of how donations are distributed are as follows:
- 75% of funds raised go to The Loden Foundation.
- 15% of funds raised go to Gulf for Good (not-for-profit in the UAE and registered UK charity) for their sustainability
- 10% of funds raised go to International Humanitarian City for their emergency response work
There is no time anymore
Good luck!
Congrats! Good luck in Bhutan
