Project Maji is a non-profit safe water enterprise working to bring sustainable access to clean water in rural communities across Sub-Saharan Africa. Project Maji designs, develops, and implements solar-powered water kiosks, called the Project Maji Cube.
Dubai based siblings, Ananya Manikandan and Shyam Manikandan plan to raise funds for Project Maji. The siblings participated in the RE-NEW Our World 2021, student water innovation challenge, from Water alliance UAE, a national level interschool competition. Ananya Manikandan's project, "Reuse of RO filter, HVAC wastewater” secured the 2nd place. Shyam Manikandan was selected as a finalist for his project Atmospheric water generator. Motivated by their research, both siblings became more concerned towards preserving environment and resolving water issues.
Ananya Manikandan is trained in Indian classical dance Bharatanatyam. Both siblings are carnatic music vocalists and have given many stage performances. They are also skilled in drawing. They want to utilise their skills in fine arts to create awareness on environmental issues and raise funds for the needy.
We humbly appeal to all to encourage the siblings and support them generously in raising funds for this noble cause.
