Indus Yaqeen - Youth Ambassador

Arhum Kamlani and Anaya Khan
United Arab Emirates

Story

Our names are Anaya Khan (left) and Arhum Kamlani (right) and we are a part of the Indus youth ambassadors of 2022. We are both 16 years old, live in Dubai and study at Jumeirah College in Year 12. We both are very good friends and united, feel that it is our time to give back and make a difference for our Pakistani community.

As youth ambassadors who are from Pakistan, the dilemma of a large population who are underprivileged and unable to gain proper health care within our country is disheartening. It causes emotions of helplessness because of the lack of opportunity to physically be present within Pakistan and advocate our beliefs.

As young and able 16-year-old students our everyday life opportunities and experiences are drastically different from those who reside within Pakistan. The thought of young individuals like us living completely opposite lives with the stress of not knowing where to go when things get tough is incomprehensible.

Because of our privilege's, we feel strongly about the concept of free health care for those less fortunate and thus it is our obligation to do our part and raise awareness.

It is necessary to be able to empathize with those less able than us in order to protect and give them hope when they feel that it is out of reach.

So please consider playing your part as well and help those families in need.

Be A Champion of Change!

Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) is serving the helpless in Pakistan by saving millions of lives and impacting thousands more. With the help of our supporters, we have been able to provide quality healthcare services - absolutely free of cost - to the vulnerable in Pakistan!

Our Impact:

Pakistan has a population of over 220 million people. With only 0.6 beds available per 1,000 people and only 11.7 doctors available per 10,000 people, this reflects extreme health inequity within the country.

Indus Hospital & Health Network aims to curb this healthcare disparity and is serving more than 5.4 million patients every year, with the help of our supporters.

Meet Muhammad:

Muhammad aspired to be a cricketing superstar. As he was suffering from high-grade fever, his parents sought medical help, only to find out that their young 6-year-old son was suffering from leukemia – Blood Cancer.

The healthcare treatment provided at Indus Hospital & Health Network rescued him & his dreams.

This is Muhammad’s story!
