To raise funds for the Dubai College Foundation campaign below, Mahir Khan from Year 7 has pledged to cover at least 100km on his own bike, using an indoor turbo trainer.
Please support him with any donation you can spare, as even during this campaign the school has been taken over as a Covid-19 emergency centre for the local community and kids in the area are also becoming infected. This is a worthy cause and by supporting Mahir, you are supporting the ongoing link of support from Dubai to this wonderful community.
About the full campaign with Dubai College:
Students are tasked with pledging a distance to hop, skip, jump, swim, bike or run to Jaisithok. We have 7412km to cover. The more creative the better!
The Dubai College Foundation supports United World Schools by building and maintaining Jaisithok School in the central Nepalese province of Gulmi.
Our aim is to offer education to the poorest and most remote communities who would not have had access to this facility otherwise.
Completion of the construction took place in September 2019 and the school now provides education to approximately 180 boys and girls from Kindergarten through to Year 6 of all ethnicities and castes.
