Ali is just 4 years old, but his heart is already full of the Ramadan spirit. When Ali was gifted a drum this year, his eyes lit up with excitement. It wasn’t just any drum—it was his special way of being part of something bigger. Even though he’s too young to fast, he understands that his family does, and he wants to contribute in his own way. So every day before dawn, Ali wakes up, puts on his traditional outfit—and proudly takes his drum in his hands.

With each soft beat, he walks through the house, gently waking his family for Suhoor. It makes him feel important, included, and part of the rhythm of Ramadan. He watches as his parents and siblings gather around the table, sharing quiet conversations, sleepy smiles, and the warmth of togetherness.

He knows that one day, when he is older and stronger, he too will fast. But for now, he is happy being the little drummer of the house, filling their mornings with love, resilience, and the sound of Ramadan.

Ali is currently in the maintenance phase of chemotherapy, bravely receiving vincristine once a week after being diagnosed with Wilms’ tumor. Yet, in the quiet moments of Ramadan, with the sound of his drum filling the early morning air, Ali isn’t just a patient—he’s a little boy holding on to joy, tradition, and the love of his family. He is their little Mesaharati.

"علي" المسحراتي الصغير

  يمتلئ قلب علي ببركة شهر رمضان الكريم وهو في الرابعة من عمره فقط، وهذا العام تلقى علي هدية مميزة جعلت عينيه تلمعان من الحماس — طبل صغير— يرفقه مسؤولية كبيرة. بالرغم من أن علي لا يزال طفلاً صغيراً وغير ملزم بالصيام، فهو يدرك أن أفراد عائلته يصومون وبأن رمضان هو شهر الصيام والألفة والصبر.

في كل يوم قبل أذان الفجر، يستيقظ علي، يرتدي ملابسه التقليدية، ويمسك بطبله بكل فخر، تماما كالمسحراتي، ويسير في أرجاء المنزل، قارعا بيديه الصغيرتين الطبل، ليوقظ عائلته لتناول السحور. إنها طريقته ليشعر بأنه جزءًا من هذه التجربة المميزة، يشعر بالفرح لأنه يساهم بطريقته الخاصة.

علي حاليًا في المرحلة العلاجية للحفاظ على صحته، حيث يتلقى جرعة من علاج للسرطان تدعى "فينكريستين" مرة واحدة أسبوعيًا بعد تشخيصه بورم "ويلمز". ومع ذلك، فإنه في هذه اللحظات الرمضانية المليئة بالفرح، هو ليس مجرد مريض، وإنما طفل صغير مليء بالسعادة وحب العائلة.

وبينما يجلس علي لمشاهدة والديه وإخوته يجتمعون حول المائدة، يتبادلون الابتسامات الهادئة والأحاديث الدافئة، فإنه يدرك أنه في يوم من الأيام، عندما يصبح أكبر وأقوى، سيتمكن من الصيام مثلهم. لكن في الوقت الحالي، هو سعيد بدوره كـ"مسحراتي" العائلة الصغير، ينشر في صباحاتهم الحب والأمل، والروح الرمضانية الخيّرة.

كما يملأ صوت طبل علي المنزل بالحب طيلة شهر رمضان المبارك.

About the Children's Cancer Center of Lebanon

Inaugurated in 2002, the Children's Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) is a regional reference center pioneering in providing access to treatment for kids with cancer, at no cost to their parents and with complete dependency on donations.

Till date, CCCL has supported in the treatment of more than 5,100 children with cancer and offered more than 6,000 medical consultations to patients, with complete dependency on donations. The cost of treatment of one child could range anywhere from 150,000 – 750,000 AED.

نبذة عن مركز سرطان الأطفال في لبنان

منذ افتتاحه عام 2002، وبفضل دعم الخيرين، ساهم مركز سرطان الأطفال في لبنان بتقديم الدعم والعلاج لأكثر من 5،100 طفل من كافة دول المنطقة وباعتماد كلي على التبرعات، بحيث تصل ميزانيته السنوية إلى الخمسة عشر مليون دولار. يهتمّ المركز بعلاج الأطفال دون سنّ الـ 18 سنة حيث يصل معدل نسبة الشفاء إلى ثمانين بالمئة.

تبلغ كلفة علاج كل طفل ما بين 150،000 و 750،000 درهم إماراتي.
