Story

My name is Chris Craver, and I am the Managing Partner of UAE's leading adventure company - ECC Adventures.

As a child cancer survivor and friends of a family who is currently bearing the untold pain and anguish of taking care of a family member who is undergoing treatment for cancer, we wanted to use our exciting adventure of trekking through 250 km of UAE mountains, Trans-Emirates Trail, to raise awareness and also raise funds for cancer patients through Friends of Cancer Patients.

A bit about me and ECC Adventures:

Originally from the US, I had my first experience in the Middle East after our family had moved to Riyadh, KSA, from 1998-2000. I became fascinated by the beauty, culture and geography of the region, which had me destined to returning to the region as an adult. After a few years of working as an English teacher in Kurdistan, Iraq, I arrived in the UAE in 2016. Over the last few years, I’ve worked with friends and family to develop a community of outdoor lovers to help make the UAE’s mountains more accessible to everyone. Out of this ECC Adventures was born. While we run weekly hikes through the winter season in Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah, there's so much more to explore in the Hajjar mountains which is why me and my team decided to take on this never before undertaken journey and fully immerse and be one with the mountains. We will travel through 250 km of marked and unmarked trails and will be passing through Ras Al Khamaiah, Fujairah, Sharjah, Dubai and Al Ain Emirates. We are using this opportunity to create awareness about the beauty and the love for outdoors while, raising funds for Friends of Cancer Patients.
