OUR BHUTAN CHALLENGE -
Thank you for visiting our charity page! We have signed up for a hiking adventure in Bhutan from November 2nd to 10th, organized by the Dubai-based charity, Gulf for Good. This trek will be a personal challenge for all of us. Not only is it rated as "hard," but we will also be camping for 3 nights and sleeping in temperatures as low as -5°C. Please remember, we are Dubai girls who love our sunshine! Plus, we’ll have no 4G!
The route will take us along the renowned Druk Path and to the iconic Tiger’s Nest, perched at 4,200 meters. We will then hike from Paro to Thimphu, experiencing the cultural richness of this mystical Himalayan kingdom.
CHARITY PROJECT
Beyond the physical challenge and the (quite literally) breathtaking location, what inspired us to take on this Gulf for Good challenge is the opportunity to support an incredible cause. Our group has been tasked with raising a minimum of 20,000 AED for The Loden Foundation, based in Thimphu, Bhutan.
The Loden Foundation’s mission is to foster a happy and enlightened society by enhancing access to education, promoting social entrepreneurship, and preserving Bhutan’s rich cultural heritage. Specifically, we are fundraising to support their Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) centres, which provide crucial care and education for children aged 3-8 years from low-income families. Our contributions will help revitalize and upgrade three ECCD centres, creating safer and more stimulating environments for young learners. Funds will go toward improving infrastructure and acquiring educational toys, books, and other necessary materials.
DONATIONS:
Each of us is covering all of our own individual trip expenses (flights/accommodation etc etc), but we would be incredibly grateful for your support in raising the charitable donation. Although it’s never comfortable asking friends and family for donations, we do all feel that we are not only raising money for a wonderful cause, but also raising awareness for Gulf for Good. This charity does so much fantastic work, year upon year, to improve the lives of underprivileged children around the world – it deserves all the support it can get. You might also check out their website and think about doing a challenge yourself in 2025. They organise 6-8 trips each year to charities and locations around the world.
We will happily share exclusive photos of us camping in -5 degrees to all our donors!
Thank you for your kindness and support,
From us xxxx
