Robin and I are hiking to Tiger’s Nest and along the Druk Path to raise money for Loden Foundation. It’s sleeping in tents in -5 degrees and will be really tough. We are so excited to support this incredible charity that does so much to support young people in Bhutan!
CHARITY PROJECT:
The Loden Foundation is located in Thimphu Bhutan. Their mission is to create a happy and enlightened society through enhancing access to education, development of social entrepreneurship, and preservation and promotion of Bhutan’s rich cultural heritage. They support children and youth from low-income families through their Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) centers.
We are fundraising to revitalizes and upgrade the three Loden ECCD centers to create a more nurturing, safe and stimulating environment for young learners between the ages of 3 and 8. The project will focus on infrastructure upgrades, the procurement of educational toys, books, and other necessary resources, and strengthening the bonds between the ECCD and the community.
FUNDRAISING:
Each participant is tasked with raising a minimum of AED5,000 (USD1,360) to support this project and, together, change the lives of these children and families.
This challenge is held in association with local not-for-profit Gulf for Good, whose purpose is to change the lives of underprivileged children around the world.
The breakdown of how donations are distributed are as follows:
- 75% of funds raised go to The Loden Foundation.
- 15% of funds raised go to Gulf for Good (not-for-profit in the UAE and registered UK charity) for their sustainability
- 10% of funds raised go to International Humanitarian City for their emergency response work
