I am off again... it's been too long since I went on a challenge and got lost up a mountain! So, when I saw that Bhutan was back on the G4G challenge list I just knew it was time to fish my hiking boots and big yellow bag out of my storage unit and go on an adventure!
If you are able It would be amazing if you could help me to raise the funds so desperately needed to help the children and families in Thiimphu, Bhutan. Details of the adventure challenge I'll be on, and the charity project are below.

Challenge
I am embarking on a mesmerising journey to Bhutan at the beginning of November 2024. This challenging adventure, set at a hard level, includes hiking the renowned Druk Path and the iconic Tiger’s Nest, perched at 4,200 meters. Explore the scenic trail from Paro to Thimpu over 8 unforgettable days. It'll be a Bhutanese odyssey that combines the thrill of hiking with the cultural richness of this mystical Himalayan kingdom and I can't wait!
CHARITY PROJECT:
The Loden Foundation is located in Thimphu Bhutan. Their mission is to create a happy and enlightened society through enhancing access to education, development of social entrepreneurship, and preservation and promotion of Bhutan’s rich cultural heritage. They support children and youth from low-income families through their Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) centers.
We are fundraising to revitalizes and upgrade the three Loden ECCD centers to create a more nurturing, safe and stimulating environment for young learners between the ages of 3 and 8. The project will focus on infrastructure upgrades, the procurement of educational toys, books, and other necessary resources, and strengthening the bonds between the ECCD and the community.
FUNDRAISING:
We are all tasked with raising a minimum of AED5,000 (USD1,360) each to support this project and, together, change the lives of these children and families.
This challenge is held in association with local not-for-profit Gulf for Good, whose purpose is to change the lives of underprivileged children around the world.
The breakdown of how donations are distributed are as follows:
- 75% of funds raised go to The Loden Foundation.
- 15% of funds raised go to Gulf for Good (not-for-profit in the UAE and registered UK charity) for their sustainability
- 10% of funds raised go to International Humanitarian City for their emergency response work
There is no time anymore
